50th Reunion Event!

Convocation's 50th Reunion Event, will be held at The University Club on Saturday the 26th of November 2022. It is a great time to celebrate this milestone with your fellow graduates of 1972, along with your partners and friends. There will be optional walking tours to begin with, followed by a delicious buffet lunch, with a guest speaker Dr Geoffrey Gallop, and ample time for catching up with graduate peers. In 1972, Dr Geoffrey Ian Gallop AC graduated with an Economics degree from The University of Western Australia, where he was President of the UWA Branch of the Australian Labor Party. He won a Rhodes Scholarship to study at St John's College, Oxford, gaining a Master of Arts in 1974 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1983. Winning the state seat of Victoria Park for the ALP in 1986, he became Premier of Western Australia from 2001 to 2006. In 2008 he was awarded a Companion in the Order of Australia (AC) for his distinguished service to the Parliament of Western Australia. Currently, Dr Gallop is Professor and Director of the Graduate School of Government at Sydney University.

Attire: Smart casual, with comfortable walking shoes if touring (and perhaps an umbrella, just in case!).

Registration: 10.45am in The University Club foyer.
Walking Tours: 11.00am departure from The University Club foyer.
Group Photo: 12.00noon, weather permitting, for a group photo at the steps of The University Club.
Buffet Lunch: 12.30pm commencement in the Banquet Hall of The University Club.
