Convocation Council welcomed its two co-opted members to their meeting in June.

Co-optees from both ends of the scale

Convocation Council welcomed its two co-opted members to their meeting in June, when Associate Director of Alumni Relations, Ms Brenda Tournier was also a guest, speaking about the role of Alumni Relations, part of University Advancement, in collaborating with Convocation.

  Mrs Pauline Tremlett

For Mrs Pauline Tremlett, Council hid no surprises, as she has previously served for many years on Council, often as a Committee Chair. Pauline remains deeply involved with Convocation as organiser of the annual Reunion of UWA Graduates from fifty years ago.

Ms Rubyna Mher

Ms Rubyna Mher, a young graduate who attended her first Ordinary Meeting recently, found it a new experience, and she was impressed by the breadth of coverage of Convocation’s activities and events. Warden of Convocation Dr Doug McGhie applauded Ruby for seizing the opportunity to join with Council and her enthusiastic offer to provide a link to Convocation’s younger members.

All graduates of UWA are members of Convocation and there are many more young than older members with over 25,000 students at UWA and many thousands now graduating each year.
