Peter Ebert

Peter Ebert says, "I was both surprised and honoured when I received my confirmation email regarding the Convocation Accommodation Scholarship. I had lived in Albany my entire life and I will admit, the thought of moving to Perth was daunting. The Convocation Accommodation Scholarship has helped pay for residency at St Catherine's College. This has given me the opportunity to meet some amazing people from across the state, country and world, as well as being involved in many rewarding occasions such as networking events and academic dinners. I am in my first year of university, studying a Bachelor of Philosophy, majoring in Microbiology and Immunology, with a second degree in Mathematics and Statistics. I have always loved public speaking, teaching and learning. It is my plan to combine my passions and become an academic, working at a university, holding my own lectures and running my own research projects. Again, I would like to thank UWA Convocation for their generosity in helping me attend college here at UWA."

I come from Kalgoorlie, 600mk away from Perth. The scholarship has eased the financial burden of relocating to Perth and living at University Hall. It has allowed me to focus and excel in my studies while making a wide range of friends from all over the world.
I am currently in my third year of my undergraduate studying a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Pharmacology and Biochemistry. Next year I hope to undertake my honours. In the future, I aim to become a biomedical researcher and develop drugs to treat debilitating conditions. Thank you for your generosity and support."
